Welcome to WLPL's Library Comic Con (Lib-Con)!
This year, Lib-Con is back and better than ever! Look for all the contests, panels and prizes you loved last year and look forward to some new additions like in-person nerdy trivia, DnD and more cosplay fun than you can shake a lightsaber at.
Events:
Library Cosplay Takeover!
Our popular Cosplay Takeover Night is back! Come to the library on October 27th between 5pm and 7:30pm in costume or just to take in the con atmosphere. Activities will include:
- The return of the Prize Wheel!
- A Comic Book Swap! Bring your old comics and rummage through some free offerings donated by the library and other readers!
- "Ummm, Actually" our know-it-all fandom trivia gameshow!
- Workshops and exhibitions by the Pacific Northwest Guild of Cosplayers / Cos-and-Effect!
- Green screens for photos!
- A raffle for our beautiful laser-cut bookshelf dioramas!
- Door prizes while supplies last! So come at 5pm!
Other Lib-Con Programming
Sunday, Oct 23rd
- Comic books have immense value as a literary and visual medium! Watch for our opening remarks video airing today!
- Pick-ups begin for the Comic Book Coaster Teen Take and Make (Remember to register HERE!)
- All contest winners will be announced!
Monday, Oct 24th
- Our Cooking with Comics video will air today! Let's make some comfort food!
Tuesday, Oct 25th
- Check out our new video for our favorite Manga and recommendations, airing today!
Wednesday, Oct 26th
- Superheroes and Parachutes! K-5, Early Release STEM class in the Hollow at 1pm and 2pm! Register HERE!
- Pick-ups begin for the Superheroes and Parachutes Take and Make Kits (For those who couldn't make the in-person classes! Register HERE!)
Thursday, Oct 27th
- COSPLAY TAKEOVER NIGHT!
Friday, Oct 28th
- Intro to Making Your Own Comics with James Asmus! In the Community Room at 4pm - 5pm. No registration required!
Saturday, Oct 29th
- Wrap things up! Highlights from the week!
