We have been in contact with fire officials responding the the Mill Fire in Oregon City. Clackamas Fire’s Hazardous Materials Team and DEW have been monitoring near the fire and confirmed that the air quality is at acceptable levels. They have also determined that there is no asbestos in the ash from the fire. If you find ash on your property, use household cleaners and water to clean it. Clackamas Fire crews will remain onsite into 1/31 dousing the site to extinguish any embers. Highway 99E near downtown Oregon City remains closed. |

Clackamas Fire reports the fire is controlled and contained, but smoldering will occur for some time. Air quality monitoring work underway. |

Crews are fighting a fire at the old Blue Heron Mill in Oregon City. Highway 99E is closed in downtown Oregon City. Use caution and avoid the area. A hazmat team has been called in to assess the air quality and see if any precautions should be taken. We will update this post as we get more information. |
