Community Grant Applications Now Available

WEST LINN –The City of West Linn has a limited amount of funding available for community organizations’ requests for support for their yearly events, operations, and activities. Community organizations are asked to submit a standardized form so all requests received by the City of West Linn can be similarly evaluated during the community grant allocation process for fiscal year 2011. The biennial budget includes $25,000 available for allocation to qualifying organizations. A copy of this form is attached to this release. Neighborhood Associations are not required to complete this form to receive funding. The grant request form is designed for community-based organizations that are interested in receiving grant funding for specific, planned events and activities occurring between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. Although the City budgets on a biennial (two-year) basis, the request must be submitted for the second year (FY 2011) only. Grant request forms are due by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010. Forms must be emailed to cwl_communitygrants@westlinnoregon.gov. Submitted forms will be evaluated by the citizen members of the Citizens' Budget Committee and grant allocation recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council for their approval at a June 2010 City Council meeting. Questions about the grant request form can be directed to Kirsten Wyatt in the City Manager’s Office at 503-657-0331 or cwl_communitygrants@westlinnoregon.gov. ###
