BN 2017 Adopted Budget
On June 8, 2015, the City Council adopted the approved budget, capital improvement plan, making appropriations, levying the property tax rate of $2.12 per $1,000 of assessed value and levying the bonded debt amounts sufficient to cover the debt service payments on the voter-approved general obligation debt that is outstanding. This budget goes into effect July 1, 2015.
On May 6, 2015, the Citizens' Budget Committee approved the proposed budget with a few changes. The Approved Budget is scheduled for Council review and adoption on June 8, 2015
On April 20, 2015, the City Manager presented the Proposed Budget for the 2016-2017 biennium to the Citizens' Budget Committee who have begun their review meetings. The committee will meet again on May 4, 2015 at City Hall at 6:00pm and again on May 6, 2015 at the Library at 6:00pm.
This biennial budget was prepared in accordance with Oregon budget law and will be submitted for the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Governmental Financial Officers Association (GFOA).
The GFOA national award program recognizes outstanding budget documents that meet program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device.
