West Linn Receives Award for its Popular Annual Financial Report
WEST LINN - The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to the City of West Linn for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008. West Linn is now the only city in the State of Oregon that currently holds all three national awards (Budget, Audit, and Summary Annual Report) from the Government Finance Officers Association. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports. In order to receive an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting, a government unit must publish a Popular Annual Financial Report, whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal. "Last week we reported receiving a national award for our audit document, today, we received our third award for our Annual Financial Report," said Finance Director Richard Seals. "The receipt of this award completes our award run for the Budget, the Audit (or CAFR), and the Annual Financial Report (or PAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008," said Seals. ###
